2-Robertson, as expected, is a marked man anymore. UConn defenders were aware of every move he made, or seemed to even consider making. Every yard he gained was earned.
3-Hard to gauge just how legit the preseason No. 4 ranking is for the ’Cats considering the opposition. Yeah, FCS ’Nova, technically, is playing “up” against FBS UConn, but, really, we’re not talking about teams drawing from different talent pools. If it matters, the defense looked sharper than the offense in the first 30 minutes.
4-That being said, ’Nova defenders not only seemed to ease up after Robertson connected with Matt Gudzak on a 13-yard TD, but they made multiple dumb plays in allowing UConn to drive right down the field following it. Only DB Jason Ceneus’ INT of a tipped pass inside the 10 kept the Huskies from tying things or going ahead.
5-‘Nova always looks sharp, home or away. It was nice to see UConn with a uni upgrade. Lotta blue out there tonight, but it’s all good.
